Default EOI Camping trip 2011 Labour Day Long Weekend.

Hi guys,

I have been thinking for a while that it might be a good idea to have a camping trip away for everyone. The date I was looking at would be the Labour day long weekend which would be the 30th of april until the 2nd of may.

Now I haven't thought about destinations just yet as I would like everyones input. For me personally I don't think we should need to drive fo anymore then 5 hours to reach our destination.

If anyone has been to any places please post them up and we can have a vote in another thread if there is enough interest. Also ad a link to said destination if you can. Once we have some destinations we can find out all details and prices for each venue before voting. Remembering that deposits will need to be made at the start of next year.

If anyone is keen to go away for just one night before the end of the year we can also look into that as this date is not set in stone.

Please remember that this will be tents so we can all be together in a group and have a good time away.

My suggestion would be Sawtell - (coffs harbour) roughly 5 hrs drive.

you can go up the rd to the boambee creek reserve for a swim and BBQ.

My thinking is that May is far enough away for people to save and get organised. I am sure if we call and say hey can I book 10 or so powered tent sites we can get a good deal.

don't really want to go to bundy . we lived there for over 30 years . can't think of anywhere exciting around there anyway . but hervey bay would be great . there is a camping ground on the esplanade that's pretty cool

mon repo is all national park and not like it used to be . too many restrictions because of the turtles . woodgate would be pretty good . just south of bundy between childers and bundy .

Burrum would be good too, especially as the caravan park is right on the river

head nth to inskip point, i have mentioned doing something like this before, but its 2 hrs drive, coastal rd, can have beers and there is a sweet beach we can swim at.

This beach goes for about 100km, great for crazy 4WDs

I think 5 Hours is a bit far to travel for myself and the family.

I could possibly 'borrow' a generator from work so no need for a powered site and the extra cost that creates.
